Melissa Martinez, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Hi! My name is Melissa Martinez and I am a sophomore at Armijo High School. I was born in Walnut Creek, CA but moved to Suisun City just before my second birthday and lived here ever since. My birthday is March 14, 2008, making me both 15 years old and a Pisces.
Journalism has allowed me to have an outlet where I can combine the two things I am most passionate about, writing and people. I've always loved writing, but through journalism, I've learned that I particularly love to write about the human experience. Like how journalism is an outlet for me, I hope to make journalism my career and become a medium that others can use to tell their story. My dream is to travel the world and interview a diverse range of people, in order to document the human experience in the most authentic way. My goal is to make documentaries with all these people and their stories. So far, my time as a staff member of the Armijo Signal has prepared me, and I'm so grateful for my position as an Editor in Chief. I'm looking forward to doing my job this year, and hope to be a part of the Armijo Signal in the future.
