The Fools Theater Production
Armijo Theatre Production’s fall play, Fools, is a hit! With sold out audiences most nights, the show has been a huge success.
The play is a Neil Simon comedy about a small town in Russia that is cursed with stupidity. Leon, a young and eager schoolteacher, played by Alexander Padgett (11), strolls into town with the goal of teaching the town’s stupidest inhabitant, Sophia Zubritsky, played by Cheyenne Shaver. However, the task becomes much more difficult when he falls immediately in love with her.
The ten-person cast and eight-person crew do a wonderful job bringing the audience into their reality and keeping them laughing along the way. Some especially funny moments are brought to the audience by Lenya Zubritsky, played by Katie Parisette, and Dr. Zubritsky, played by Victor Barajas.
The show planned on finishing its run on Saturday, November 17, but with the district-wide shut-down of schools due to poor air quality, the final two performances are expected to be rescheduled. The Thursday, November 15 performance is expected to go on as planned.
Tickets ($8-Adult, $6-Student, $4-Gold card) can be purchased online at showtix4u.com, search: FOOLS, or at the door, with cash or check.
