Coach Mosley shares his experience on and off the field.

A lot of people on campus know Mr. Don Mosley as Coach Mosley. Others know him as their teacher because he teaches Special Education students and also serves as a case manager. “I subbed as schools in Sacramento and Elk Grove,” he said. That was before he came to Armijo five years ago.

“I started coaching at Armijo my second year at the school,” said Coach Mosley. While he seems to be a natural, this is the only school he has coached for. “It allows me to achieve my life’s task and stay connected to football.

Much of his life revolves around football and other sports. His hobbies include following his Fantasy Football team and watching other sports, but he also enjoys reading, discovering new music and cooking.

Coach Mosley would encourage others to become involved in coaching. “Always be open to learning and building your knowledge of your sport,” he said.

After five years at Armijo, he is proud to be part of the team and he said that he would like to change the perception that people have of the school “It’s a great school with great people,” he said, “but we get overlooked.”

He finished his interview with this: “If you ever need advice on how to use the sense that’s common in the vending machine of life, come holla at ya playa potna Mosley.” Of course, for those who aren’t familiar with urban slang, he’s also available for a chat about the future.
