For the past three months, Marcel McCarther has been working as a cashier at Taco Bell. For him, the most difficult part of the job was getting started. This is McCarther’s first job, but he hopes to earn money for school and, someday, become a doctor.

“I like my boss because she’s funny and a cool person to talk to,” he said. McCarther works about 24 hours a week and earns about $11 an hour. It’s a good thing because he said that the best part of his job is getting paid. At the job, McCarther is required to wear an apron, a Taco Bell shirt, black pants and black shoes.

“I get done with my job fast and do well with the people that come in,” he said. He would encourage other potential employees “to stay positive.”

Besides work and school, McCarther spends a lot of his time at football practice.
