Mystery Person

“If I had 1 million dollars, I would donate it to a children’s hospital because there are a lot of children who die too young,” said this issue’s Mystery Person.

This generous individual is a 15-year old sophomore with a huge heart and a lot of compassion. He has been attending since his freshman year and, according to him, he likes it here. He views it as safe and he likes the staff.

Our Mystery Person likes to play soccer, football, and baseball and likes to skateboard. He’s been playing the three sports since he was young. He started playing soccer when he was five and added football and baseball when he was nine.

His favorite color is black, and his favorite cereal is Fruit Loops. One of his favorite music genres is rock, and his favorite band is Skillet. His favorite song, Hero, is from that band. While he knows his mind about a lot of things, there are some things that aren’t as important. “I don’t really have a favorite clothing brand,” he said, “but if I did, it’d probably be Nike.”

This Mystery Person has goals but he realizes that he also has time. “I haven’t accomplished anything yet, but I want to accomplish good grades, so that I can graduate, attend college to become an engineer, and make money to donate,” he said. He wants to become an engineer because his dad was really into mechanics.

He also wants to travel. Where? “I want to travel to Brazil after I graduate because I like soccer and I mostly play Brazilian Soccer,” he said. He’d like to stay there two years and afterwards return to attend UC Davis because a lot of his family and family-friends attended that UC and he’s heard nice things about it.

History is a favorite subject for our Mystery Person because he likes learning about other cultures. He himself can speak two languages fluently (Spanish, English). He grew up speaking Spanish. “My least favorite subject is French because, even though I’m trying really hard, it’s hard to understand because it’s very different from Spanish,” he said.

With two younger siblings, ages five and six, it is no wonder that this Mystery Person spends a lot of his time at the PAL Center. He said that he feels really safe here because he hangs around people he trusts and has learned a whole lot (except for French)! His uncle attended Armijo and graduated in the late 90’s.

Our Mystery Person offered a HUGE shout out to his favorite teacher Mr. Casey Towner, a Giants fan who is kind, respectful, and reminds him of his dad.

The last Mystery Person was Jasveer Sahota who remained a mystery during the last two weeks of August and the first two weeks of September.

If you know the Mystery Person for these two weeks, be the first person to go to G-10 to identify him or her. You will receive a free movie ticket at Edwards Theater. Only one prize per issue will be awarded. Journalism students or club members and Armijo teachers and staff do not qualify. Armijo’s Mystery Person will be presented between September and May. Submission cannot be taken during class time but will be accepted between classes, before and after school.
