Raymond works hard at school so that he can play hard at the bowling alley.

Raymond Houston plays in the Armijo marching band and likes to do 500-piece puzzles, but he really enjoys bowling in his free time. “My aunt got me into bowling,” he said. He’s grateful because he finds the sport fun. “My average is 170 and I practice at Starz Bowling in Vacaville.”

Houston has some advice for new bowlers. “Start off with a spare ball if you’re a beginner,” he said. “Also, get your own bowling shoes so you don’t have to pay $5 every time you go bowling.” He said that he would be interested in starting a bowling team with Armijo, but he would need to find a teacher willing to sponsor it.
