This single proves that Echosmith is still producing awesome music. (Check out the video at the bottom!)

Echosmith is a three-member group that debut in May 2012 with their hit single Cool Kids. They were originally formed as a quartet of siblings: Sydney, Noah, Graham and Jamie Sierota, but Jamie left the group in 2016. The band is managed by their father, producer and songwriter Jeffrey David.

Echosmith is an indie pop band that debut their first album, Talking Dreams, on October 8, 2013. In their early life, they started doing covers by Rihanna and Coldplay. Talking Dreams welcomed a new era of music for the band. Echosmith debuted their second studio album Inside a Dream on September 29, 2017.

The band’s newest single, Over My Head, can give you an impression of how the group has changed since their last album. Check out the video below.

If that song left a positive impression on you, you might want to check out their Inside a Dream album. It has seven tracks, and each song is as enjoyable as Over My Head.

Lessons is the first track from their album. It is an 80’s style love song, using emotionally charged lyrics to make sense of this new, unexplored territory. However, the track is not only lyrically referenced from the 80’s vibe we saw from their last album. Along with their 80’s vibe, they add some guitar chords that give it an awesome background. With so many reference thrown in the lyrics and moving forward from the instrumentation, it’s easy to image the Lesson. This is a good start to open a journey into the album with a catchy opening track.

Get into My Car tells a story about two people outside a party, adopting a little bit of magical realism as the song’s narrator says “Get into my car / Get into my life.” Musically, how she says “Car” and “Heart” are fantastic and the harmony on the chords makes the song more meaningful. The track has 80’s synth with guitar and drum sounds that fit the song nicely, allowing us a bit of both and melding the two vibes.

From the beginning, 18 sounds like Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion. The song is about being a reckless teenagers becoming 18. Sierota sings, a quiet piano accented bridge is lovely, and the crescendo following is nicely executed.

Future Me is a catchy track talking about future self. Sierota sing’s an empowering track and saves some star power for their bridge. The sound is amazing there some fast moment but then it easily slows how there life is going up and down makes the song unforgettable.

Goodbye is one of my favorite songs from this album. I just wanted to dance and sing along to it. The song has an edgy modern sound. Sierota’s tone of voice gives it more of realistic to what she singing about.

Hungry has a nice layered sound with an impeccable deep bass line hiding under it, making me imagine it as a perfect movie soundtrack. Having the piano makes the song more stunning.

I would have to say that Dear World is one of my least favorite tracks from this album. It does have some smart lyrics like “How many souls can be covered together / All of us feeling alone”. Overall, the song did have some nice harmonies in it. I did find the ending of the song too abrupt.

Overall, the EP welcomed Echosmith with a clearly thoughtfully album that reflects on the band. It also showed them staying in their own roots and founding new sound. While the departure of the band eldest member, Jamie Sierota, was an obstacle for the band, it hasn’t hindered their sound in the slightest. I give the album 4.5 out of 5 stars.

For those interested in the band, Echosmith posters are available in G-10 while supplies last.
