Fashion Review: Weekends on the Water

It seems that everyone likes to take a break on the water. Hot weather is coming again and that means opportunities!

The first question is where to go. There are plenty of options close and far from home. Beaches, lakes, rivers, and water parks are great places for fun in the sun and in the water, but special considerations must be made for these types of outings. One must think of what to bring as well as what to wear.

Swimwear is the simple part, as most choose to wear traditional swimsuits or swim trunks to have fun out on the water. Females have the option of wearing a two piece bathing suit or a one piece, although there are dozens of different styles, combinations and accessories. Males traditionally wear swim trunks and their biggest decision is usually what color or pattern will make them stand out from the crowd. However, everybody has the option to wear regular clothing over their swimwear, with the option to take it off at the water’s edge and replace it before going out for a bite to eat or when the weather starts to get colder in the evenings.

The second question many ask is what to bring. A person must consider how long they plan to stay on, in or around the water. Bringing snacks, sunscreen, towels, and extra clothing is a smart idea when going on weekend trips dealing with water. The sunscreen is to protect skin from the sun’s radiating heat and to keep you from becoming sunburned. The towels are for once you are finished and wish to dry off and change back into your clothing, while the extra clothing is just in case the clothes you came in got wet in the process of fun on the water. Snacks and drinks are, of course, for if you become hungry or thirsty during your stay.

If you know what you are wearing and what you are bringing, everything else about fun on the water is simply fun, and who can’t use more of that?
