National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is celebrating its 60th anniversary this July, but their focus is on the future. One of their plans is to add to its existing robotic fleet at the Red Planet with the InSight Mars lander set to study the planet’s interior according to NASA.gov. The rover will be assigned to look for signs of past life, and to gather samples and be brought to Earth and investigate resources that would help astronauts in the future.

Many want to know when NASA will send people out to space. According to NASA, they will develop new technologies and techniques that will help in the process of preparation for longer-duration missions far from Earth. NASA needs many new technologies and updates before ultimately sending humans to the more distant reaches of outer space. They have to make sure everything is safe for the humans who volunteer for the mission.

NASA is currently creating an advanced rocket that will help to lead the next steps of human exploration farther into space. It is planned to launch From Kennedy Space Center in Florida and this powerful launch system rocket will carry astronauts across NASA’s spacecraft to the Moon, where astronauts will build and begin testing the systems needed for missions to other destinations, including Mars, and deeper into space.

Astronauts living in space for six months or more, including two who were there for nearly a year, have helped NASA in learning how future crews that plan on going to space can succeed n longer missions into the solar system.

Many exciting things are planned for NASA in the upcoming years and it’s one step closer to new knowledge about space.
