A freshman with experience and a future

Haley Kile has been playing softball since she was 5 years old, so it is only natural that she would be part of the Armijo junior varsity (JV) team in her first year at Armijo.

“[Softball is] something fun and enjoyable that I can do, said Kile. She likes how it’s competitive but also something she can contribute to and she plans to play all four years at Armijo.

She doesn’t intend to have her softball experience end with her Armijo graduation, either. If given the chance to play in college, she would be happy to do so.

Kile explained that playing softball has allowed her to meet new people, and has helped her break her out of her shell. She gets her motivation from a quote she learned from her mother: “It’s okay if you fail, just make sure you try your hardest, and pick it up after.”

For those who might want to play softball, Kile shared that the team is very accepting and ready to take new players under its collective wing. “Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and grab a couple of friends, she said.
