Important characteristics:

I have many skills and positive traits. For example, I have great time management, I get my work done quickly and well. I care a lot about others and love to help any way I can. I am very open to new ideas and am willing to converse with others to bring those ideas to life. Additionally, I bring a sense of humor wherever I go, and I love to laugh and make others laugh. Finally, I know when to take things seriously and when to relax.

How do you plan to stay connected to students to make sure their voices are heard:

In terms of staying connected, I have a couple of ideas. I want to survey students and see what they want and then execute a plan to provide that, if possible. Secondly, after events I want to take polls, possibly by email or social media, and see what was good about an event and bad about it and see what we can do to provide more of what others want. Lastly, We should have meetings with the sole purpose for allowing others to share thoughts and ideas. This would provide more ideas to go off of and give chances for other’s voices to be heard.

What, in your opinion, are the three most important issues facing students at Armijo High School and how will you address them?

The three most important issues facing students at Armijo are getting enough sleep, copious amounts of homework, and school spirit. In terms of getting enough sleep there is not much that can be done, however some encouragement from others and motivation they will sleep more. Also, talking to teachers about possibly assigning less work so students have enough time to sleep and get everything done may be helpful as well. For homework, I would want to work with teachers to see if there is a way to fit in more class time for kids to do their homework. This would allow kids to finish their work during school and help give them a chance to relax, sleep, and get whatever else they need to be done at home. School spirit is important to the atmosphere of a school. At Armijo we have a variety of students with different interests and asking them what they want and giving that to them (within reason) would help provide a comfortable and more spirited environment. Giving people what they want and making it fun would make more people interested in what events are going on and more people would join in on the fun.

What are your top priorities for the position you will hold?:

My top priorities are simple, I want to make sure our money is safe and I want to fundraise more. More fundraising will gain more money and then we can use that toward school spirit. Investing the money into the community in the school will not only show people that we care about their wants, but it will help provide a comfortable environment for other students to be engaged in our activities. In all, I want to do more to get others involved and staying involved by utilizing resources to make the school atmosphere more fun.
