How do you plan to stay connected to students to make sure their voices are heard?

I plan to stay connected to students to make sure their voices are heard with social media going out to groups and asking for their opinion with things. I plan to do this with social media because I know that there are people that are shy and don’t like to say what they have to out loud because they think that they would say something wrong and it would sound stupid when this is not true because all answers matter wrong or right. When using social media I will use things like the remind101 or polls on twitter. And I will go out to groups and ask their opinion through surveys or by giving them my email of number so they could contact me.

What, in your opinion, are the three most important issues facing students at Armijo High School and how will you address them?

Something that I think is an issue that is going on in our school is that there is not a lot of involvement in our sports. I think we could fix this by doing what we do at football and basketball games with all of our games such as have and A-Team section, give out prizes to the crowd, or even just spread the word about it more.
Students not coming to events. I feel like only a small percentage of students from our school has been attending majority of our events. During events like homecoming being hard to bring outside students to the event. I think we could fix this by going to the places that have students that don’t attend the events and showcase it there. And also I am in multimedia I can help broadcast it around the school.
Everyone thinks that our events are only for students in IB or in leadership. There are students all over the campus that don’t like attending things just because there are a lot of students that are in leadership that are in IB and they get their friends that are also in IB. Some students also think that leadership is also only for IB people. I think that we should bring in more people that are not in IB to bring in a bigger portion of our school. I know that I have been trying to bring in some of my multimedia friends to leadership because they also have friends that are not in any program.

What are your top priorities for the position you will hold?

My priorities for my position is to make everyone in my class comfortable enough to express their feelings and questions to everyone and not feel like they are being ignored. I just want the class of 2019 to be happy and successful. And also so that we have a really cool homecoming and senior skit. 🙂
