Athlete focus: Soccer and memories

“When I was a kid, my mom signed me up [for soccer] and I loved it,” said Nolan Elledge who plays soccer for the Armijo Varsity team. He actually started playing when he was only about four years old and has played at Armijo since his freshman year. He also played for NorthBay Elite Futbol Club, also known as NBEFC. He was on the winning championship team at Inderkum. This was probably his most memorable game at Armijo and promises to be a long lasting memory.

While soccer is important to Elledge, it is not his only sport. “I played baseball growing up and now golf,” he said. He plays golf for the team as well as as a hobby. Elledge is also involved in Leadership. Sports have had an impact on Elledge and he would encourage others to consider getting onto a team. “Do it! Being on a team is a bond you can’t break,” he said. “Get involved. Have fun. You only go to high school once… In general, I love Armijo.”

Despite his history with soccer, he doesn’t plan to play when he goes to college in the fall. His goal is to attend the University of Nevada Reno. He has not decided, yet, whether he will focus on becoming a nurse or a doctor.
