Stress-Free Week Provides Relief

Stress Free Week at Armijo consists of five days full of activities and gifts for students to prepare for finals. “We want to make sure you relax a little and get in the right frame of mind leading up to finals week,” said Leadership adviser Mr. Brad Burzynski.

Monday, December 11 – Mitten Matching: Leadership students will come by third period classes and give each student one mitten with a number on it. The goal is for each student to find the student with the mitten that has the matching number. There will be a table and backdrop outside the library for partners to redeem their matching mittens for a small prize.
Tuesday, December 12 – Free study tools goodie bags for first 50 students at each location; one location will be the Indian Outpost, the other will be by the mural on the band room.
Wednesday, December 13 – Free hot tea for the first 200 students at each location; one location will be the Indian Outpost, the other will be by the mural on the band room.
Thursday, December 14 – Emotional support dogs are scheduled to visit the campus. There will be sign-ups and a raffle to pet the dogs during the day. Three or four people will be able to visit with each dog in five minute rotations. (Subject to dog availability.  Information later to come.)
Friday, December 15 – To finish off the week, counselor Ms. Rebecca Lusk will host Mindfulness-Light yoga. Stress balls will be given to participants who experience the whole session, while supplies last. This yoga session will be on the grass by the softball fields to the left of the library.
Everyday there will be music playing outside the library in the new quad and there will be a backdrop for those who find their matching mitten to take pictures. On Wednesday, there will be live music; sign-ups to sing/dance will occur until Tuesday, December 12.
