Movie review: A second time around for the fathers

Daddy’s Home 2 is a sequel to the original: a rivalry between Dusty and Brad, who married Dusty’s ex-wife, Sara, and helped raise his two children. During the beginning of the movie, Dusty and Brad—who have somehow figured out how to parent together instead of against each other—decide that they wanted the whole family together for Christmas this year.

However, when their fathers both arrive in town for Christmas, their co-parenting is put to the test. Dusty’s relationship with his father, Kurt, is rocky, while Brad’s relationship with his father, Don, is soft and open. The family’s holiday gets better when Kurt suggests a combined family holiday vacation.

In the middle of Daddy’s Home 2, as the whole family are enjoying their trip there comes many problems that occur between the two’s father’s, the audience learns that Brad’s relationship with his father isn’t all sweet and open as it seemed after he found out a big secret his dad had been hiding. On the other hand, Dusty and his father, who had a rocky start slowly begin to get better throughout the trip.

In conclusion, the whole family and the relationships between them all have to be fixed   everybody actually starts getting along.

I recommend this to anybody who wants a good laugh, and it’s even better if you’ve seen the original, which is available on DVD or downloaded. The thing that made Daddy’s Home 2 a really good holiday movie was because it showed family’s bonding; even through the difficult times, it all works out and families can learn to get along.
