October 2017: Sibling Spotlight | Meet the Browns

In total, there are six adolescent members of the Brown family, but only three of them are currently attending Armijo High School. The other three have either graduated or are attending another high school such as Fairfield High. The Browns are of German of heritage, but only their mother speaks it as her first language.

Both Ariel and Rachel are sophomores and they’re both members of a variety of clubs and sports on and off campus. Ariel, for instance, is on Armijo’s tennis team and is also a member of the Origami Club and the Cinematic Arts Club. Outside of school, she enjoys  horseback riding and playing the piano. She plans on receiving her International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma and continuing on to a four-year university. At the very least she wants to receive her Bachelor’s degree in science. Rachel has been part of the swim team and she is a contributor to The Armijo Signal, providing creative cartoons to meet the papers bi-monthly theme. “I enjoy art in my free time. I love painting and drawing,” said Rachel. “I am apart of art club here at Armijo. I also love to crochet. I am also apart of Origami Club, Ping Pong Club, Cinematic Arts Club, and Stitchers Club.” Like her sister, she plans to pursue her IB diploma and eventually attend BYU Provo, with a major in illustration. “I hope to pursue a career as a professional artist and start a family,” she said. She also commented that her favorite color is “periwinkle.”

Julian is a senior and he hopes to receive his IB diploma this spring. He is a member of the Armijo tennis team. After graduating, Julian hopes to attend a four-year university and pursue a Bachelor’s degree in science.
