A new player has joined Armijo’s badminton team. This new player is a freshman named Izabelle Deguzman. Izabelle joined badminton this early February, she joined because she viewed badminton as a fun and competitive sport that was perfect for her. Her best memory of the sport so far was bonding with her teammates for the first time. She states that she’d recommend this sport for those who are looking for an easy indoor competitive sport. A challenge that this sport has given Iza is that it was more mentally hard then physically. From this challenge she has learned that to improve you have to set tiny goals, to get to a big goal of yours.

Mayleen Atuatasi, Staff writer
My name is Mayleen Atuatasi, but I go by May. I’m a 14-year-old freshman who goes to Armijo High School. I chose to join the journalism class because I like to report on school events. My favorite hobbies are reading and writing. I’ve always been happy to write about a topic, and being in this class would help me continue with that passion.
Throughout the years my goal of becoming a doctor has never changed, just like my favorite color staying purple, or loving to read and write. In the future, I wish to go to NYU to become a neurosurgeon. Before that, though, I would like to be a paraprofessional. I would become a paraprofessional to help both teachers and students.
