Armijo kept getting past Wood and into the goal.

Varsity: The Royals came to win Tuesday night, January 31. They put in that little something extra to play at their best for senior Abraham Perez who had been injured by a Wood player at our last match up due to a bad foul.

With it being Will C Wood’s Senior night, the Wildcats brought their best game as well, and the battle was back and forth for the first 10 minutes. Then junior Edwing Saucedo Pacheco pressed on a rebound from a shot by senior Captain Diego Torres to get us the first goal of the game.

Wood followed with their own great play by their #10 to tie things up. Torres and Saucedo weren’t about to let the tie stand and one minute later they teamed up to get the second goal which was finished in the net by Saucedo for his second or the night.

Armijo went to halftime with heads high and some good points to cover and came back even stronger . About 15 minutes into the second half, Torres was able to sink his own goal off an assist from junior Dawson Le. The Royals weren’t done yet and seven minutes later Saucedo was able to get his third goal off another rebound by sophomore David Hernandez.

Play continued to pick up and, with a last minute foul in the box to Will C. Wood, there #13 was able to sink a goal in past our keeper Jackson Harrington to finish the game at 4-2.

Coach Flores is so incredibly proud of the boys and the play they brought to the pitch. Armijo takes on #1 seed Vaca High Thursday, February 2, at home for Senior Night.

Junior Varsity (JV): The Royals came in looking to win from the first whistle. Within the first minutes, opportunities were created. Isaac Aguirre scored the first goal after a couple rebounds. The pressure continued, Artemio Perez scored three goals in the first half and put the game at 4-0.

In the second half, Will C. Wood was able to contain a bit more with defensive plays. In the last 15 minutes of the game Perez scored his fourth goal of the night and ended the game 5-0.
