Ms. Regina McGee is not new to the field of coaching. She’s been at it since she was 22 years old, and played soccer before she began coaching it.

She played in college (D1), and internationally (Trinidad & Tobago National Team, ASJ Soyaux-Bordeaux). Throughout her entire soccer career, Coach McGee has worked with some amazing coaches who have helped her develop both as a person and as a player. They even helped get her into the position of being a coach.

She did it to return the favor of those who had helped her succeed, and now she helps bring out the best in every single player.

Some values that are important to her include coaching commitment, communication, and discipline, working with the whole student and not just with their behavior as athletes. A typical practice includes some form of check-in and communicating with players. “I am empathetic to the emotional needs of my players” she said. “If this is not addressed first, it has been my experience that it will determine the outcome of the seasons “

Once they are prepared mentally and emotionally, the players warm-up physically, they work on skills that are needed, and usually end with some sort of scrimmage. She doesn’t just work with them on the field, though. Coach McGee also updates the schedule, addressing any concerns. When recruiting, she usually looks for  coach-ability, skills, and attitude.

Some of her favorite game nights over the years have been the senior nights at Armijo because they have always been touching and monumental.
