Fun Fact: Both Germany and the United States used Nostradamus’s prophecies as progaganda during World War II.

Nostradamus is well-known among people who are interested in astrology. He was a French astrologer in the first half of the 16th century who earned fame through his accurate predictions of historical events over the last 500 years. He predicted events like the French revolution, 9/11, and the COVID pandemic. According to WioNews, he also had some predictions for 2023.

Michel de Nostradame, better known as Nostradamus, was born on either December 14 or 21, 1503 in Saint-Remy-de-Provence of France. According to History, very little is known about his early life but evidence shows that he was very intelligent. He was tutored by his Grandfather who claimed to see potential in him. Nostradamus was of Jewish descent and was introduced to Jewish tradition which led to him learning about astrology. History states that, when he was 14, he got into the University of Avington to study medicine but was forced to leave. The Bubonic Plague had an outbreak around this time so Nostradamus traveled around the entire country to research different kinds of medicine to treat people who had been infected.

In 1538, History explains that he traveled to many mysterious schools where it’s believed that he experienced a psychic awakening. When he returned to France he wrote two books on medicinal science, Galen and The Traite des Fardemens. Galen is a translation of a Roman physician’s book; The Traite des Fardemens is a medicine book for treating the plague.

While Nostradamus was settling in Salon he drifted away from his focus on medicine and got into the occult. He would meditate for hours in front of a bowl filled with water and herbs, which is said to have led to his predictions.

In 1550, History explains that Nostradamus started to write about his visions and predictions in his first almanac. He got a lot of good feedback from people and his name got around France which motivated him to write more. Four years later his visions developed into a big part of his works, and a year later he published Les Prophesies which featured many of his major predictions. Ageofthesage says that, in 1566, Nostradamus suffered from gout and dropsy, which led to him writing his will on June 17, and on July 1, he passed away.

While we haven’t had someone come as close to him when it comes to predicting the future, he still has some predictions for 2023 you can read about on Wionews. As a prominent figure within the astrology community, his works are still talked about today. His predictions also talked about seeing that he was able to predict many historical events accurately.
