The Armijo Girls’ Varsity Soccer team braved the rainy weather and field conditions Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, to earn fifth place in the annual Inderkum High School Soccer Tournament. Teams who placed 1st-5th earned an “All Tournament” award and Armijo was one of those recipients. Leslie Silva also earned a spot on the “All Tournament Team,” voted by all coaches in the tournament.

The girls battled to a 1-0 win vs. Woodland High, and a tough 2-1 win vs. Edison High School. On Saturday, the girls were upset by McClatchy High School,with a 3-1 loss. The score certainly did not reflect the passion and determination of the girls on the field.

Goals were scored by: Elizabeth Penados, Leslie Silva, Victoria Vera, and Fabiola Cisneros.

The girls were scheduled to face Branson High School at home on Tuesday, December 6. The Junior Varsity game starts at 5 pm, with the Varsity game starting at 7 pm.
