After competing in a men’s physique competition, Officer James Lewis shows off his winnings.

Mr. James Lewis can be seen walking the campus of Armijo almost every day. He serves as our school’s Resource Officer and is employed as a member of the Fairfield Police Department. Around here, he is usually just called Officer Lewis.

In July, Officer Lewis participated in a competition in Sacramento hosted by the International Federation of Body Building and Fitness and he brought home four separate medals as a first-time competitor: True Novice Class C, True Novice Overall, Novice C, and Novice Overall (Fox40). According to the Fairfield, CA Police Department Facebook Page, he also won the Heroes award in the First Responder Category and came in second place in Open D class.

According to Fairfield Police Department, as quoted in the Fox News article, it was not a simple process. Officer Lewis went through a grueling 16-week process, with training and special meals, all while helping maintain the peace on Armijo’s campus during the day.

“To win all of these in his first competition is super rare and a great accomplishment,” Officer Zachary Tuss said on the Fairfield, CA, Police Department Facebook page. The page went on to share that “he couldn’t have done it without the support of his family and peers.”
