“Robotics involves the design, construction, operation, and use of robots,” said James Reynolds, club president, as he described the club. “The goal of robotics is to build robots that complete tasks in competitions to get as many points as possible and STEM.”

The club, which started in 2014, has had Mr. Pete Smith as its adviser since its inception. The current officers include President James Reynolds, Vice President Jalen Chen, Secretary Ramon Torres and Treasurer Jonathan Waters

The Robotics Club participates in competitions all over California and they might actually go to the World Competition in Texas this year. The members also enjoy pizza parties periodically.

Robotics is open to anyone who has a desire to learn about engineering. “To join you just have to walk through the door,” said Reynolds. The club meets in S5 on from 3:30 to 5 pm on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and sometimes even on Saturdays.

“Their primary purpose is to build robots that can compete in the highest levels of competition and to learn about how to do so,” said Reynolds.
