A night for parents to discover and experience a day back at school.

Thursday, September 1, is Armijo High School’s Back To School Night. Along with shopping for school supplies and making sure to be up and ready on time, Back to School Night is an important ritual marking the beginning of the new school year!

Students are encouraged to bring their parents and friends to this event. Back to School Night is a great way to let parents know what will be happening and what’s been going on in the different classes.

“It runs from 5:30 – 7 pm.  At 5:30 parents should be in their student’s 1st period class.  Every ten minutes a bell will ring and a five-minute passing period will occur with a bell ringing for the next class,” said Principal John McMorris. During that time, parents, family members and students will tour the classrooms, get to know the teachers, administrators, and other faculty members, and learn about the upcoming school year’s plans and goals.

When the families visit the classrooms, teachers will discuss expectations for behavior, grading practices and the way the classroom works. Parents will also learn what they can do to help their child succeed in school. Administrators will be available to clarify about the campus rules, bell schedule, and more.

Although students are not required to attend, it is important for family members to attend to give everyone more clarity about the rules and expectations of Armijo High School.
