For the last year, Ms. Lori O’Connor has been serving the Armijo students as an assistant Principal, but she didn’t hasn’t always lived in Northern California.

Ms. O’Connor grew up in Southern California and went to three different universities to earn her credentials as an administrator: San Diego University, National University and the University of San Diego, but it is the day-to-day life of being on campus that has made it real for her.

The hardest part of being an administrator is making sure that all the students’ needs are met, and Ms. O’Connor spent much of this year doing her best to meet that goal. But as of June 30, Ms. O’Connor is moving on to serve as the  Director of Student Services in Oakley Union Elementary School District.

“In five years, I hope to move up to a higher position where I can positively impact more students within a school district,” she said. That may happen, but during those years she wants to make sure that the students in her care and the responsibilities she has taken on are taken care of as long as she is with the Oakley Union School District.

In her free time, Ms. O’Connor enjoys spending her time with her husband and her three dogs. She loves going to Maya Restaurant in Sonoma. Every year, she and her husband plan one big trip, but that’s just the start of her travel dreams. “After retirement I hope to travel more,” she said.
