Coach Feature: Tennis looks Bright

Coach Bright has been having a great time at Armijo. He has been coaching as

a tennis coach at Armijo for two years and before Armijo he has coached for an

Australian swim school in CA. Coach Bright became a coach as the school needed a

coach and he wanted to help. He really enjoys coaching for the tennis team as he

explains that he gets to learn more and also gets to know a lot of new students and

parents.

Coaching is not the only thing he does at Armijo. He is also a teacher for Honors

World History and US history. I had his class during my freshman year and it was

one of my favorites!

Besides coaching, he has worked at many other places. He started working as

a sales associate selling phones and then he became a leader for an afterschool

program. Before working for Armijo he was working for an independent study

program.

Besides teaching and coaching, he likes doing outdoor things like hiking,

snowboarding, camping and bird watching. He really likes to travel and take day

trips with his girlfriend.

Even though he has never attended Armijo before, one thing he would like to

change would be the students as they should pick up their trash after lunch.

When asked for one advice that he would like to give someone who wants to get

in coaching, he said, “to do it and volunteer first and see if they like it and it is great to

share your skills with a younger player”. At the end, he wants to encourage all

students and families to come and watch the tennis games as they are very intense

and fun.
