4. A Madea Homecoming

After 3 long years, Tyler Perry’s beloved character Mabel “Madea” Earlene Simmons makes a return to the big screen. If you are familiar with the Madea cinematic universe, you may recognize some elements of Perry’s stage play Madea’s Farewell Play as it is an adaptation. The comedy follows Madeadiscovering hidden secrets at her great-grandson’s college graduation party. Although the film received mixed reviews, feel free to have a watch and draw your own conclusions about A Madea Homecoming.

5. Despicable Me

If you were alive during the early 2010s then you’ve definitely heard of Despicable Me. The computer-animated comedy took the world by storm and you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing the obnoxiously yellow Minions around. In the film, they accompany a supervillain named Gru who adopts three girls (Margo, Edith, and Agnes) as he attempts to steal the Moon. It actually left Netflix on March 31, but you can find it on Amazon Prime Video and Vudu.
