Karen Pacheco Ponce knows that the best thing about having a sibling on campus is that they always have each other’s back. Everyone knows she and her brother Fernando Ponce are related because the two look like twins, even though she is a year and three days older.

“We attended elementary, middle and high school together and we will hopefully go to the same college,” Pacheco said. Her ultimate goal is to study Business and become a cosmetologist, but for fun she likes to listen to music and

Pacheco is the oldest in the family with Ponce close behind, but they share two younger siblings who are in elementary school at Fairview. Martin is in fifth grade and Luz is in third, so neither of them will share the Armijo campus with the oldest two.

As the oldest, she has certain responsibilities and takes them seriously. “I think [my siblings would] say I’m mean,” she said, but it is not something she’d agree with.
