It takes a special level of skill to become part of the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team as a sophomore, but Jazmine Cardwell has proven she has the skill. “I’ve been participating in basketball for the past year so since I was a freshman… now I’m a sophomore… All of my games are memorable I had good times at all my games.”

She plays center and took full advantage of the benefits of the shortened season last year. “I’m thankful for that.COVID affected my season by making us having limited of games last year…I had a blast last year!

Cardwell wasn’t new to sports. She’d already played volleyball and soccer and hopes to play basketball in college. When she’s not sleeping or in school, she spends her time playing basketball. “After I graduate I would love to travel around the world,” she said.

There’s always someone around to play basketball with. Cardwell has seven siblings: Jonah Cardwell (10), James Cardwell (14), Jeremiah Cardwell (17), Joseph Cardwell (19), Hollis Mayon (22), Iynashia Cardwell ( 25), and Lydell Cardwell (27).
