It is unquestionable that for Sophomore Treasurer Chloe Resngit, her role in Leadership has always come naturally, “I have been in leadership since my freshman year. I have grown so much. I’ve grown out of my comfort zone and taken on more leading roles,” said Resngit.

When asked about her journey to join as officer, Resngit said, “I wanted to get closer to my fellow leadership students. I also wanted to grow out of my comfort zone. ” Through her freshman and now sophomore year, Resngit has spearheaded her passion towards her class, “My main motto is to show love in everything you do. If it’s complimenting somebody or leading a meeting, I make sure to be loving and kind in whatever I do.  A leader’s number one job is to be kind and loving.  Ever since a field trip to listen to Scott Backovich, I’ve realized… Life is too short to live in hate!”

In addition, Chloe is supported by her fellow officers and classmates, “I enjoy getting to know my classmates on a more personal level. Being an officer, you have to communicate with your peers all the time. My fellow officers, Lewa, Gerald, and Aaron, really keep me going. I love knowing that whenever I’m stressed I can count on them.”

However, the role of an officer can also come with its compromises and sacrifices. When asked about a difficulty in the class, she said, “Football homecoming is always exciting, however it brings upon so much stress. A major challenge was probably organization and keeping up with documents. I helped create a Google Drive for each homecoming to get organized perfectly.”

The relationship between students and class bonding has been a key part of Resngit’s leadership process, “The process was great for building connections with my classmates. It was also good for others to step out of their comfort zones.”

When Resngit is not caught up in homecoming planning, she enjoys spending time working on her talents, extracurriculars, and sports, “Outside of school, I sing for choir at my church, coach a cheer team at Holy Spirit School, and take piano and vocal lessons. At school, I am the secretary for JSA, play badminton in the Spring, and sing the national anthem at football and basketball games.”

Resngit encourages anyone who is interested in joining the Leadership class to join as soon as possible, “Leadership isn’t just a class for a bunch of people to mess around and have fun all the time. Granted, we do have tons of fun. It truly is a class where you find who you are and discover the potential change you can make,” Resngit said.
