Let the light shine on your theatre dreams this month.

The new school year is underway and there’s always a lot of Drama, but at Armijo, it’s all good.

Our fall play, Robin Hood and His Merry Men, will be preceded by workshop on September 16 in T-2. This workshop will run from 3 – 3:30 pm. There, students will find out all the information needed to know about auditioning for the play, according to Theatre Club publicist Olivia Mauk. A PDF of the script is posted on Google Classroom. **It is important to know about the play you are auditioning for, so if you don’t know it yet, go and research it a bit.**

The auditions themselves will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, September 22 and 23, from 3:30 – 5:30 pm.

Whether or not students are interested in participating in the play, there is still an opportunity to wrap up the month with a Musical Movie Afternoon hosted by Theatre Club on Wednesday, September 29 in T-2. Watch the campus and emails for updates.

ATP Fall Play Audition Information

Prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue, and have it COMPLETELY memorized.

Where to find monologues: You can find TONS of monologues online. Here are a couple of sites you may find helpful: Monlogue Blogger, Daily Actor

  • Sign up to audition at a specific time using the link provided in Google Classroom.
  • When it is your turn on your audition day, you will be asked to enter the theatre room (T2). Ms. B will be there and possible one or two alumni panelists as well.
  • You will slate first (state your name, what monologue you will be performing, and who wrote it.)
  • Then Ms. B will give you the go ahead to perform your monologue.
  • You might be asked to do it again with new direction from Ms. B.
  • You might also be asked to do a cold read, which means you will receive a short script from the play and act through the scene on the spot.
