From a best-selling novel to a popular movie, The Devil Wears Prada hit 12th grossing film with its amazing storytelling and comedic scenes. 

The story tells about a journalist, Andrea (played by Anne Hathaway) starting out as an assistant, but not just any assistant. She has been chosen to be a personal assistant for Miranda Priest (played by Meryl Streep), the editor-in-chief of Runway, a prestigious fashion magazine. Priest’s employees cater to her every need, but behind her back they call her The Devil. 

As the story progresses, Miranda asks Andrea to do more and more complicated and challenging tasks, like booking a plane during a hurricane. After one breakdown, Andrea looks for help from her experienced coworker Nigel, who helps her realize what she’s doing wrong. He helps her change how she dresses and teaches her to walk with confidence. Of course, angst hits as Andrea, who is in a relationship, ends up pushing more of her time for Miranda and losing her boyfriend Nate. All chaos breaks loose when Andrea is given the opportunity to go to Paris but has to fire her coworker in the process. 

I loved this movie because I’ve always favored these kinds of tropes, where the girl with nothing to her name becomes much happier and confident in the end. 

I would rate this movie an 8/10 due to some predictable situations, but it was so well played and written. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys little clichés and sometimes serious but mostly comedic scenes.
