Music has always been a big part of Ms. Hunter’s life.

Q: How long have you been teaching Armijo? What do you teach?

A: This is my first year teaching at Armijo. I teach music (choir)

 

Q: Besides teaching what have you done for work?

A: I have been teaching the majority of my career.  I had my own voice studio and have worked as a Western Regional Manager for a computer company.

 

Q: Why did you become a teacher?

A: I have always enjoyed working with other people and teach them something new and exciting.  Teaching for me is a passion.  It gives me joy and great pleasure to see students grow and become productive citizens.

 

Q: How has COVID-19 affected your teaching?

A: It has forced me to learn a whole lot of new computer skills to become a more affective distance learning teacher.

 

Q: What are your hobbies? What else do you do for fun?

  1. I enjoy bowling and listening to difference genre of music. I really enjoy live plays and going to the movies.

 

Q: What advice would you give to students considering going into teaching?

A: Make sure you want to go into teaching because it’s your passion and not for the money.

 

Q: Where did you go to high school? Where did you go to college?

A: I went to high school in Illinois. I graduated from Joliet East High School in Joliet, Illinois, and graduated from University of Phoenix for my Master’s degree.

 

Q: Who influenced you when you were a student?

A: My music and English teachers influenced me greatly. Also my parents.

 

Q: Anything else you would like to say?

A: I have enjoyed my first year at Armijo.
