The Tri-City Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization and one of 2,200 local units and state conferences. The longtime mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

The Tri-City Branch will award Six (6) $1,000.00 scholarships. The Application Period is April 14 – May 14, 2021.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a student of the graduating high school class of 2021 in the Tri-City areas of Fairfield, Suisun City, and Vacaville.
  • Applicant must be a resident of Solano County.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale.

PLEASE NOTE: All scholarship awards will be mailed to the Financial Aid Office of the student’s college, university or vocational school and are to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies. Funds will be released upon receipt of verification of enrollment in the 2021 Fall semester or quarter. Funds will not be sent directly to students or to their family.

Deadline

The completed application, current official transcript, two letters of recommendation, and essay must be received by May 14. Applications that are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be accepted.
