Make your home into a dance floor.

One of the biggest drawbacks to being a member of the Class of 2021 in California is that you will probably not have the opportunity to experience the real thrill of prom night with your friends, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Since most group activities and events are being held in a virtual setting, you can still dress up and get your makeup done for a Zoom prom. And the benefit? Nobody will see your lower half in order to know if you are fully dressed. You most likely won’t have to
buy matching shoes because who is going to see your feet? You can invest in a stylish top and get your hair and makeup done, while still wearing pajama pants and slippers, and nobody will ever know! Just don’t decide to get up and dance in front of your computer.

There are so many people who’ve looked forward to this day for so long that they’ve had their whole look planned since before COVID-19. Some of these people are likely to go all out and wear full prom attire, such as a tuxedo, a floor length ballroom dress, heels or dress shoes. This might not be a bad idea if you want to get up on your feet and share your dance moves that you’ve been practicing. As far as a virtual prom date, consider going face-to-face to one of the open restaurants and sharing the computer for a larger group. You and your date could go for a walk or spend some time outdoors.

If you’ve been dating for a while, you may have accepted each other into your COVID-free bubble, but the larger the group, the more important it is to social distance. While there may not be a regular prom, imagine the money that can be saved on tickets, transportation and more. Get the look and the experience without damaging your budget. Now that looks prom-ising!
