Spring can make us all a bit more positive.

Yes Man is a 2008 comedy film directed by Peyton Reed, written by Nicholas Stoller, Jarrad Paul, and Andrew Mogel. The film follows a bank loan officer named Carl (played by Jim Carrey) who has become withdrawn since his divorce from his former wife. He becomes more and more negative about life and routinely ignores his friends. His friend Nick (played by John Michael Higgins) sees how depressed Carl is and suggests they attend a motivational seminar together. This seminar encourages the participants to seize the opportunity to say Yes!.

Carl takes to the message and eventually becomes annoyingly positive in his approach. The movie also includes Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper, and Terence Stamp. While it is already over a decade old, the movie is classic Jim Carrey and offers laughs. Viewers can relate to the situation and can understand the range of emotions Carl experiences. This would be a good movie to watch with friends but, if you can’t get together with them, you can each stream it on YouTube, Google Play or other streaming services and discussing it later.
