We all smile in the same language.

As we face these global crises together, let’s find positive ways to look after ourselves and each other. The International Day of Happiness is an annual event organized by the United Nations to promote the idea that feeling happy is a global human right.

The General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed March 20 the International Day of Happiness, recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals in the lives of human beings around the world and their importance of their recognition in public policy objectives.

In 2015, the UN launched the 17 sustainable development goals, which seek to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect our planet – three key aspects that lead to well-being and happiness. The United Nation invites each person of any age, plus every class, business and government to join in celebration of the International Day of Happiness, according to Better Help (https://rb.gy/thsshs).

The International Day of Happiness theme for 2021 is “Keep Calm. Stay Wise. Be Kind” and is a response to the COVID pandemic.

People around the world can celebrate by promoting global happiness all year, connecting with others, celebrating with a feast, treating yourself and loved ones, dancing for joy, smiling, improving your mental health, and getting your body moving! Basically just do anything to spread joy and happiness as a way to celebrate the International Day of Happiness.
