Becoming a teacher is a way to pay it forward.

The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is a public research university located in Irvine, California.

One of the things that makes UCI stand out is their School of Education, which is a top 20 school of education in the nation. The program focuses on educational sciences and improves educational opportunities for individuals.

The Master of Arts in Teaching and Credential program (MAT) enables students to receive a master’s degree and a single or multiple subject credential in only 14 months.

The Single Subject Credential program allows candidates to pursue one of six subjects: art, English, math, sciences, social sciences, or world language. Earning this credential prepares students to teach those subject areas at a middle or high school level.

The Multiple Subject credential prepares students to teach grades K-6, focusing on the elementary school curriculum.

MAT candidates get their student teaching credits at various school districts across Orange County where they are assigned an experienced mentor to guide them on their teaching journey.

Interested in becoming a teacher? If you are and don’t want to pay out-of-state college fees, UCI might just be the perfect destination for you.
