Oswaldo is a junior at Armijo High School School, who hopes to be a professional chef after high school. He plans to take his love of cooking (even if it means he will be cleaning kitchens forever) and turn it into a meaningful career.

His favorite part of PAL is all the fun he has been able to be a part of, “even though we have to do online now, we still have fun.” He credits Mrs. Fatima with working hard to find different activities to create community and fun, even now that program is online.

Oswaldo was nominated by his peers for many reasons. They appreciate his willingness to support others and try new things and credit it as one of the reasons he is so liked by everyone. “Oswaldo has integrity,” said a member of the selection committee. Others shared examples of his easy-going manner and maturity.

The Fairfield PAL Program is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis students ages 13-18 who are enrolled in school. Memberships are FREE and can be applied for at the Fairfield Community Center by calling 707 428-7435. PAL Center is currently closed due to COVID-19, but is supporting members through virtual programs and a food pantry with the Solano County Food Bank.
