Almost every religion has a piece of writing that they consider holy and sacred. Do you know some of them?

Different religions view different texts as important. While there are some similarities between the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible, there are also some distinct differences. The Catholic Bible includes seven books – Baruch, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Tobit and Wisdom – that are not found in the Protestant Bible.
“These books are referred to as the deuterocanonical books,” according to TimesFreePress.com (https://rb.gy/atuilh).
There are also differences between translations and some translations are directly rooted in particular religions. For instance, the Bible that the Jehovah’s Witness followers use is distinctly different from the translation that is used in other faiths. The Mormons also have an additional four books that are not found in traditional Catholic or Protestant Bibles.
The Church of Latter Day Saints, also known as the Mormons, have additional books that they consider holy: The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. All of these books are supposed to be made of revelations from God that are shared with the members of the church.
The Quran is the holy book of the Islam faith. It is set up in two sections, one reported to be written in the city of Medina, and the other in the city of Mecca. The Muslims use this text to understand God, who they refer to as Allah, and to understand the teachings of the prophet Mohammed.
Judaism follows The Torah. It is made up of oral tradition and sacred writings. The sacred writings are divided into three parts: the Torah, Nevi’im and Ketuvim. The first part is the first five books of the Old Testament. The second part refers to the writings of the Jewish prophets. Finally, Ketuvim, also referred to as The Writings, are made up of psalms and proverbs, according to beliefnet.com (https://rb.gy/vkzr8h).
Like the religion of Hinduism, the texts that they follow are also ancient. They include the Vedas, which is a printed version of their oral traditions, as well as Puranas, “which detail Hindu cosmology, and the epic poems the Ramayana and Mahabharata” (https://rb.gy/vkzr8h).
Buddhist do not consider their texts as holy, but do honor certain books, including “Tripitaka or Pali Canon, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, the Memorial Verses on the Middle Way, the Great Stages of Enlightenment and the various compiled volumes of the Buddha’s original sutras or teachings,” according to beliefnet.com. The importance of these texts varies from group to group.
