Different religions view different texts as important. While there are some similarities between the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible, there are also some distinct differences. The Catholic Bible includes seven books – Baruch, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Tobit and Wisdom – that are not found in the Protestant Bible.

The Church of Latter Day Saints, also known as the Mormons, have additional books that they consider holy: The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. All of these books are supposed to be made of revelations from God that are shared with the members of the church.
The Quran is the holy book of the Islam faith. It is set up in two sections, one reported to be written in the city of Medina, and the other in the city of Mecca. The Muslims use this text to understand God, who they refer to as Allah, and to understand the teachings of the prophet Mohammed.
Judaism follows The Torah. It is made up of oral tradition and sacred writings. The sacred writings are divided into three parts: the Torah, Nevi’im and Ketuvim. The first part is the first five books of the Old Testament. The second part refers to the writings of the Jewish prophets.
