Add a hoodie or a jean jacket to your outfit and stay warm when outside.

As the weather grows colder, wardrobes have to adapt, but it doesn’t go from hot to cold in one night. Layering could keep you warm when the temperatures drop, but give you adapt as the day warms up. Layering doesn’t mean wearing three pairs of jeans all at once. When you layer, you could simply throw on a denim jacket over a simple top to add character to an outfit. Even if it’s hot outside, you can wear a sheer colorful cover up with a basic black ,white, or tan shirt. As the day gets warmer, you can remove one or more layers to remain comfortable, but to keep your look consistent as you shed layers, add some focus accessory to your outfit, taking your outfit from basic to beautiful. A light silk scarf can add some color, or a cute sweater might fit in just fine.

The best time of year to layer would be winter or fall, because you can get away with more layers and adding on more accessories to make them all go together. When layering, you should always try to color coordinate. It just makes everything look more put together, even if it is just thrown together at the last minute. A jean or leather jacket is always a very easy way to take your outfit up a notch, thrown over a light sweater and matched with that colorful scarf some cute earrings. Layers are sometimes considered accessories. For example, if you have on an amazing outfit and want to jazz it up with a jacket or even a thin short sleeve cover-up if it’s cold outside, you can move into a warmer room, shed the layers and still look cute. Sometimes people layer jackets, especially when the weather turns chilly.

You can layer a simple hoodie with a denim jacket or a basic zip up fleece with a leather jacket. Some things that just should never be layered? Jeans on jeans, sweats over jeans, or even sweats over sweats. I don’t recommend multiple socks either, because that won’t be doing your feet justice whatsoever. I wouldn’t consider layering your clothes a fashion trend only because it’s done year round by everyone around the world every year… I’d just call it uplifting your style.
