Beyonce has been a role model for years.

Beyoncé is a well-known American artist who did a few performances here and there as a child, and grew up to become the lead singer in a group called Destiny’s Child, singing alongside with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams in the late 1990s. This musical group of girls was a huge hit, but Beyoncé began her solo career in 2003 and continues to impress her fans.

Lemonade is her sixth and most recent studio album, released on April 23, 2016. This album was a hit, earning the Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album, the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Album, the Soultrain Music Award for Album or Mixed Tape, the Billboard Music Award for Top R&B Album and the BET Award for Album of the Year, according to Wikipedia.

Lemonade includes a total of twelve songs and features multiple artists, including Jack Blake, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, and Jack White.

This album reflects on the emotional journey of being African-American and it was rumored that Beyoncé released this album as a response to her husband Jay-Z cheating on her, partly because the fifth song, Daddy’s Lessons, connects with her husband cheating on her then her father doing the same to her mother.

In Lemonade, Beyoncé shares the history and impacts on black families, men, women, and love through her lyrics, poetry, and art.

I like everything about the album including the songs and the meanings behind them. On April 23, 2016, HBO aired a documentary called Beyoncé: Lemonade. “The film serves as a visual companion to the 2016 album,” Wikipedia said. I feel that it matched the feeling of each song.

I highly recommend listening to the album especially if you want help with healing from something emotionally.
