Guinness World Record Day has been held on November 18 held in 2004. This day was to celebrate record-breaking achievements and potential record breakers come together trying to become the world-record titleholder.

Most people got to know about the Guinness Book of World Records and its contents since they started publishing annually from 1955. Over the years, more than 100 million copies have been sold in over 100 countries!

The history of the Guinness Book of World Records goes back to November of 1951 when a manager got into an argument about what was the fastest game bird in Europe. Since there was nothing to help him prove his case, he decided that the whole world needed a book of records.

Why not take advantage of Guinness World Record Day by challenging yourself to break some records? If you are up to the challenge, register for an account, search for the record you want to break, and then complete the application for this record. (Apply here! )
