In September, the Solano County moved from purple tier to red tier in COVID-19  monitoring, which meant more places were allowed to open. After 14 days of staying in the red tier, schools in Solano County are now able to be reopen. 

On Thursday, October 8, the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) held an online board meeting where they made the decision of whether or not schools should reopen in this month. Earlier in the summer, the Board created a five-phase plan that covers the different stages for letting students back in again. 

Their three options were to maintain distance learning, have a hybrid enviornment with part of learning from home and some from school, or open at 100% classroom learning. However, after much discussion, they came to the conclusion that they needed time to come up with a solid plan. Their final action was to postpone the decision until the Janurary board meeting in 2021. This agreed with student and parent polls, which showed that the majority wanted to stay in distance learning for now.
