Music tastes have changed since Zee was released.

The album Identity by Zee was released in 1984 by Rick Wright and featured Dave Harris. It had nine songs, most of which I liked.

This is not the type of music I would normally choose, especially as it is over 35 years old. With its beats and rhythms, it immediately reminded me of the styles from the 80s.

I can see why it’s a controversial album, with its strange tones and sometimes off-beat path from vocals. It has a very vapory, wave feeling overall. It is, essentially, an early attempt at techno rock.

While I like most of its songs, some just feel a little distorted and strange, partially because it was a short-lived side project by Wright, who later stated that it was a failed experiment.

If you would like to experience it for yourself, you can find an auditory version of it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=9ZjjRxTVhBc.
