The sun may be shining but sweater weather is on its way.

Today’s fashion trends are influenced by popular icons, such as television stars, musicians, social media influencers or even a free app called “Pinterest “ where you can get ideas from people all around the world. They can post on this site to inspire others. You can get inspiration from hairstyles to birthday party ideas. I feel that it’s a really good and helpful app to everyone that could be in a “creative jam.” Most fashion styles today are cyclical, taking styles from the past and reworking them to fit within modern tastes so, technically, fashion is always repeating itself, but always with a specific focus from the past.

Fall and winter are quickly approaching, and some colors that are in style now are neutral, down-to-earth colors, oranges and reds, grey and tans, greens and blues. “Sweater weather” is not too far away, so pairing a calm colored sweater or hoodie with a pair of jeans, sweats, or leggings make it easy to dress to impress, whether we are on campus or still at home. Naturally, finishing the look with a pair of sneakers or boots is important, but there is another opportunity to be even more comfortable.

Crocs are classic foam and plastic- based slipper that you can pair with any stylish outfit, run to the store in, or use as house shoes to just walk around your house in. These shoes play a huge part in fashion today. About a year ago you’d just see them on nurses or doctors, but now, just like they were about 10 years ago, they’re “trending”. During fall and winter you DO NOT have to wear dark colored clothing. DO NOT wear accessories that are bolder than your outfit. DO NOT wear a lot of different patterns in one outfit. DO throw in your own style so that you don’t resemble anyone else’s outfit. DO add an accessory such as a purse, scarf, a coordinating mask or a pair of shoes that makes your outfit stand out. Styles might repeat themselves, but that doesn’t mean you need to be the same as you were the last time they cycled. Grow up and live your life in high school fashion.
