Sharing a name has caused some challenges for Gilberto.

When the office summoned Gilberto Rodriquez one day during third period, they were surprised that Gilberto Rodriguez showed up. Of course, it wasn’t because they weren’t expecting a reponse, it was imply that they were expecting a different Gilberto Rodriguez.

The “Gilberto Rodriguez” shown here is a junior this year, but he shares his name with a sophomore at Armijo. He was named after his maternal Grandfather. and if he had to pick a nickname, he would go by “Beto.”

The Rodriguez family has another doppleganger at Armijo. Gilberto’s brother, Angel, shares his name with a sophomore also.

When Rodriguez graduates, he hopes to go to Sac State, CSU East Bay or Solano County. With proper training, he may be able to run a business someday and he wants to start his career as a barber.

As for what he likes to do, Rodriguez said that he enjoys watching basketball and listening to music, “Any kind as long as it’s good and has a good beat,” he said.

The other Gilberto Rodriguez chose not to respond to the interview request.
