A new job, a new shop, and a new experience.

Jesus Yoguez, a senior with some International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, started attending Armijo as a freshman. Like many high school students, Yoguez works a part time job. In his case, it is a position at Sharetea (2401 Waterman Blvd Suite C1 in Fairfield).

Sharetea is a bubble tea store that is fairly new to Fairfield. Yoguez applied online after he saw an ad on Instagram. He chose to work at Sharetea because he enjoys milk tea and thought the environment would be fun and exciting.

He began working this summer. He usually works around twenty hours a week and this is his second job. “The work environment is very fun and upbeat,” he said. “Everyone is happy for the most part and just excited to work.” He said that he enjoys working with the other team members there.

Typically, Yoguez’s tasks consist of scooping toppings for the beverages and double-checking the drinks to make sure the orders are correct before going out to the customers. “The drink starts off with any toppings the customer would like, then it is given to whoever is working the bar and they read the label and begin making the drink,” he said. “Most of the time the drink includes some type of tea, creamer, and a type of sweetener, which varies by drink.”

In his free time Yoguez likes to play tennis, watch television, bake, and spend time with his dog.
