While we can’t necessarily travel this month, we can start dreaming of going places, even if it is only to local restaurants. Guadalajara Fruit Bar on 811 Texas Street is one of those places that will let you imagine the sunny beaches of Mexico.

I’ve been to this place many times and they always have great customer service. Even though we have a Stay at Home order because of COVID-19, the restaurant is still open for pickup.

When we return to a semblance of normal, this restaurant will provide excellent customer service, with a menu that offers a variety of choices. If you like Mexican food, you’ll love their flautas, their tacos and they even their tortas. There are also many drink options, kept cold like their desserts.

The last time I went, I had a classic burrito, plain and simple, just how I like it. It cost about $11, which isn’t bad considering how big their burritos are. While waiting for my food they served me chips and dip. The chips are fresh that definitely keep me coming back for more! They were so nice and they really made me feel appreciated. Due to the pick-up and go policy, I wasn’t able to sit down but there are many chairs and tables which will hopefully open up soon.

Find a time to visit when restaurants open again. They are open at 10 am to 8 pm every day and, in addition to the delicious meals they serve, they also have fresh produce and fruits. I haven’t dipped into that side of the menu yet due to my pickiness but everything is definitely fresh. So, if you’re looking to try something new, I would definitely suggest a trip to Guadalajara, the Guadalajara Fruit Bar, that is.
