Far from home, University of Delaware provides an old school experience to a new generation.

The University of Delaware is a public college located in Newark, Delaware. It can trace its roots back to 1743, over thirty years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, although it was first located in New London, Pennsylvania, and didn’t become the University of Delaware until it merged with a local women’s college in 1921.

The school offers many different athletics, including hockey, softball, lacrosse, tennis, and golf. In the 2021 edition of Best Graduate Schools, U.S. News and World Report also shared that the University of Delaware has “the best physical therapy program in the United States” and they are ranked #1 for their Physical Therapy major and #8 for Chemical Engineering major.

To apply, potential students can go online to the UD website (https://www.udel.edu/apply/) and complete the required essays. The process also asks for students to submit SAT or ACT scores and provide a school counselor letter or secondary school report. Lastly, there is a non-refundable $75 application fee.

Some notable University of Delaware graduates include Vice President Joe Biden, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Johnny Weir, a U.S. National Champion figure skater in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
